Juvéderm is long-lasting gel dermal filler that replaces the hyaluronic acid (HA) that skin naturally loses from aging. HA is a natural moisturizer for the skin and when less is produced, the skin looses firmness and elasticity. This causes wrinkles in areas such as the edges of the lips and around the mouth and nose. Juvéderm is a nonsurgical treatment to restore the face’s youthful contours for those who do not want or are not ready for a full facelift. Patients desiring facial rejuvenation may schedule a consultation with Dr. Aimee Nguyen who will provide a thorough consultation and recommend an appropriate treatment plan.
"I don’t think I have thanked Dr. Nguyen enough for the level of care, attention and expertise she has showed before, during and after my surgery.I had a pelvic, prolapse and bladder surgery six weeks ago and I, as had heard from many, was expecting some post-op pain or big discomfort, nothing! I went home and had the best recovery one would have dreamed of. Today, after six weeks I have to force myself to remember I had a big surgery. Thank you Dr. Nguyen!!!"- T.D. / Healthgrades / Dec 16, 2017
"Pick This Doctor - I like Dr. Nguyen a lot as a person and I could not be happier with the actual results. I’m so glad that I took the steps to make this happen. The recovery was fine. Of course it was rough but it’s short lived, worth it, and nothing you can’t get through."- T. / RealSelf / Jan 12, 2019
"Best surgical experience ever. They have become like family to me - Here's a brief background on myself before I dive into this review: I am a female who is finishing up her last year in college. I grew up unaware that my labia were longer than what is considered to be normal. I always just thought that every other woman I knew was also having the same everyday difficulties that I experienced (difficult to put tampons in, chaffing, bulging in swimsuits, etc)...."- S. / RealSelf / Jan 11, 2019
"Incredible Results - Labioplasty is a very private matter. I did not tella soul I was having this done. Well, not technically. I found a friend of mine (very close friend) had it done in another city. Nonetheless, this is not a topic of discussion. So, that’s why I’m writting this. I am not usuayone to write reviews, etc. But for Dr. Nguyen and her staff, absolutely !!! My experience was 10/10. And tha..."- M. / RealSelf / Jan 10, 2019
"Cutting Those Wings Was the Best $ Ever Spent! - I wish I would have done this sooner. I initally thought that any surgeon could proform this type of surgery, but after having it done I now realize it takes SKILLS! I'm so glad I had a woman Dr. who knows a womans body proforming this on me. The healing process and pain wasn't bad at all. I only took ibuprofen and iced for the swelling. I'm rarely ever adjusting my undies/jeans/tights anymore..."- W. / RealSelf / Jan 10, 2019
During a Juvéderm treatment, the face will be thoroughly cleansed and the areas where the injections will go in will be marked with ink. This filler product contains the numbing agent, lidocaine, so the injections cause very little discomfort, but numbing cream may be added if the patient is uncomfortable. After the injections, the Juvéderm will be massaged evenly across the face. Patients should allow 30 minutes for the actual treatment, and then 15-30 minutes to rest after the treatment. There may be some temporary redness and tingling, but usually light activity can be resumed right away and exercise can be resumed after 1 day.
Juvéderm sessions usually cost between $400 and $1,000 and the effects of one session last up to one year. The total cost is based on the amount of Juvéderm used during the session.

Juvederm Or Cosmetic Surgery?
Juvéderm, just like other cosmetic derma fillers, can create smooth, softer skin and diminish facial wrinkles for up to a full year. Over time, the effects of a filler product may decrease and at that time, patients may consider cosmetic surgery. In addition, in some cases, a filler will not help improve wrinkles, only surgery will. This is a discussion that can be had during the initial consultation.
Why Choose Juvederm?
Juvéderm is FDA approved and is shown to be safe and effective for the reduction of wrinkles. In addition, the results from a single treatment are longer lasting than some of the other fillers on the market. There are two different formulations of Juvéderm that are used for specific problem areas on the face, which means more personalized treatment planning for excellent results.
Where is it Used?
Juvéderm is usually recommended for the lips and nasolabial folds (laugh lines). It is also used to fill in the crack (the number "11") known as the glabella folds between the eyebrows. It is common to combine this filler with a wrinkle relaxer.
