So this lovely young patient suffers from some vaginal relaxation. So the vagina has been stretched out internally at the canal as well as at the opening of the vagina. So we're going to be tightening up all those muscles inside the canal as well as tightening up the opening. We're going to be numbing up that area first to decrease the risk of bleeding.

So we're moving the excess skin at the opening because I have basically gauged how tight I want to tighten and that's based upon a conversation that I've had with her in regards to how wide her current partner is and what's extra we're going to remove.

So next what we're going to want to do is we're going to want to separate that vaginal skin from the underlying muscles, because then we're going to be tightening up those muscles, kind of like a tummy tuck and then we'll remove all that extra skin.

So we've separated all that vaginal skin on the surface from the underlying muscles, and now we're going to pull these muscles together and what that'll do is it'll help tighten up the canal, the full length.

Now we have all this extra skin that needs to come off. So very similar to a tummy tuck, when you're tightening up the abdominal muscles and then we remove all the excess skin on both side.

So we've removed all that extra skin. We've started to close up that incision here. All these sutures will dissolve on their own and it takes on average about four to six weeks for the sutures to dissolve, which is why my postop instructions are typically six weeks no sex, nothing inserted inside your vagina as everything's healing.

Now we're going to be tightening up the muscles at the vaginal opening and see how just by doing that, it starts to pull that vaginal opening back together. So tightening up this opening really helps make sex more enjoyable for both the woman as well as her partner. And see how it's really coming together quite nicely for her.

So we're all done with the vaginoplasty. You can really appreciate that just by rebuilding the muscles at the opening, how it pulls the labia back together and then we've rebuilt all the muscles down below, and now that vaginal opening is no longer gaping open. She's going to heal great.
